Dinner was at Michelangelo with Jun and Ying. A rather unexpected gathering as friends will know that my sunday nights are usually spent having dinner at gran's. Dinner was expensive as the food while generally tasty was nothing to rave about... but the company was priceless.
Like a family recipe that has been passed from generation to generation, the company was timeless, reliable, comforting and satisfying. It's what anyone will order for a weary soul... a platter of good old friends, with a dose of humour and the subtle scent of familiarity and security.
The trio braved the rain to get to Michelangelo. One sacrificed and went without an umbrella, seeking shelter beneath a sweater, and the other two shared an umbrella. Amidst all the giggles and laughs, the trio reached Michelangelo partially drenched but triumphant. And for all of the storms that life will present, the trio will see each other through the same way and emerge triumphant.
Today, I sought comfort in neither food nor shopping but in 2 trusted friends who have seen me through the vicissitudes of life. TGFF (thank God for friends).
